Get Ready Denver

After many months of preparation we have secured our small ranch in Conifer CO. Thank you to our Portland CSA  members who have been with us from the beginning. Our goals on the farm remains the same and that is to grow healthy quality animals for our future food source. Times are getting tough and uncertain, more now then ever we should be concerned with our health and what kind of foods we are putting in our bodies. God knows some of us only have our health these days. We will be here to support the efforts of quality products raised on farms and ranches by farmers and landowners who care and are hands on daily.

Denver NOW is your chance to get in on the meat share beginning in January 2013. All meat products will be fresh or fresh frozen and well packed.  Please see the past post regarding our products and prices. In a nutshell 300 lbs or fresh farm meats for a great price. Full and half shares are available. You must purchase by Oct 31st for your January delivery. This will also make a great gift for families and friends. If your membership is coming to an end in the coming months you can also renew by that same Oct 31st date.

Put a goat on it...

So spring is really finally upon us and we have many new additions to our family here on the farm. About a month after our lamb "1201" arrived we met a host of kids: Clarence, Daisy, Molly, Rollo, Rainbow, and Francesca. This is great news and they bring pure joy to the farm. On a sad note, Bilbi, the sire to most of the kids lost his life to a coyote attack and he will be greatly missed. Fortunately Bilbi's spirit lives on in his kids and today we found them inventing a new game, king of the llama mountain: This is twins Rainbow and Rollo walking/climbing on Shiloh as Sonya looks on...
Now Daisy takes a turn on top...
Now the game is over...
And nothing from the peanut gallery...
Now you have seen a lot of our new goats, we'd like to introduce a few other characters.... Here is Stalin out for a nice jaunt around the pasture.
He is flanked by a couple ganders and chickens. That Daisy is back on the llama again... Shiloh is such a patient goat-sitter....
And some more hogs, getting in some exercise as the other llamas look on from the far pasture.
Can you spot the hams in this picture?
Now a less active member right now is our goose who is diligently sitting on her eggs in self-imposed seclusion
Thought of the day: Everyone has their place in this world, find yours.
